Captain Robert Davy of the 31st BC Horse, former commander of the cadets, took them to Australia in 1912.
The boy is in the light uniform is Australian cadet Chester Bond who acted as drum major a kind of cheerleader for the group.
The parade proceeded from the Great Northern station to the Cambie grounds; they are passing the Hudson's Bay store on Granville.
