- The south side west of Chilco. The house on the right, Parkside, (2050 Barclay) belonged to Sir Charles Hibbert Tupper, son of Canada's sixth prime minister. It was built in 1899. There is some dispute about the architect. A newspaper article published in 1899 attributes it to Cornelius Soule, but Janet Bingham believes it to have been designed by Samuel Maclure. The two were in partnership for one year at that time. It was run as a lodging house from 1929 to 1935, when Lady Tupper died. The house of the left belonged to Frederick Buscombe, Vancouver's eleventh mayor.
