- The two men in the foreground are John Joseph Simons and Captain Robert Davy. Simons was the leader of the Australians.
- Captain Robert Davy of the 31st BC Horse, former commander of the cadets, took them to Australia in 1912.
- The boy is in the light uniform is Australian cadet Chester Bond who acted as drum major a kind of cheerleader for the group.
- The parade proceeded from the Great Northern station to the Cambie grounds; they are passing the Hudson's Bay store on Granville.
