- Note on negative reads, "Steveston, B.C. circa 1898. A steamer with yards, a three masted ship, a four masted barque, and two more three masted ships; all five vessels loading cases of canned salmon for United Kingdom, etc. The stern-wheel steamer beyond is probably Victoria-New Westminster ferry boat. The horse drawn stage for Vancouver entered the forest at Eburne, now Marpole, by a slit in the towering firs and cedars, called the "North Arm Road", now Granville Street South, reached the clearing known as "Fairview" at the city boundary, 16th Ave. Photo presented, 8 July, 1947, by Mrs. A.
