- David immigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland when he was offered a posting with Price Brothers in Quebec. After five years as a forest engineer he applied and was accepted into Premed and then Medical School at Laval University. Moving to BC, he spent six years in general practice, before taking on other responsibilities. He later became Executive Secretary to the British Colmbia Medical Association, the Senior Medical Advisor to the BC Ministry of Health; Chair of the Medical Services Commission; and then Director of Corporate Affairs with the BC Bio-Medical Laboratory. He carried senior membership in the Canadian Medical Association, and eventually was awarded the honour of BCMA Silver Medal of Service in 2000.
